Begin at the meeting point and board a boat through the scenic waters of Samaná Bay to Los Haitises National Park. As you traverse the bay, you’ll be surrounded by tangled mangroves and towering limestone mogotes. Inside the park you’ll explore caves such as La Cueva de la Línea and La Cueva de la Arena, where ancient Taíno rock-art and inscriptions await. You’ll also learn about the region’s unique flora and fauna including endemic bird species. After the park visit, you’ll head to Cayo Levantado (also known as “Bacardi Island”) where you’ll have free time to swim, sunbathe or simply relax on its white-sand beach. A typical Dominican lunch buffet is provided in this tropical setting. The excursion wraps up back at the original meeting point by late afternoon.
