At dusk, you gather at the launch point on the shore of Paquera Bay for a safety briefing and basic paddling instructions. Once equipped with life jackets, you board either a single or tandem kayak and begin your journey as daylight fades. As the darkness deepens, you’ll begin to see the water light up with tiny, glowing organisms — every stroke sends trails of neon green and blue in the water. Your guide pauses to explain how bioluminescent plankton work and why the bay is so special for this natural show.
