On this 2-hour (or approx. 1.5–1.75 hour) guided tour, you’ll visit a family-run farm set in the Monteverde highlands. Your guide will introduce you to the life cycle of the coffee plant — from seed to harvest — and explain how coffee cherries are picked, pulped, washed, and roasted.
Then, step into a cacao greenhouse to discover how cacao fruit becomes bean, and how those beans are roasted, ground, and transformed into chocolate. You may even take part in the chocolate-making process.
Next, experience the traditional sugar cane mill where cane juice is freshly extracted. Learn how it’s processed and even try your hand at making a classic sugar cane candy (called “sobado”).
