? Full Description
This is truly an off-the-beaten-path experience: the tour takes place on a family-owned private property about 10 km from Quepos. By night, the jungle changes — the familiar green is replaced by pitch-black shadows, but it’s filled with life. The forest floor turns muddy in places, and the trail may be a little challenging, but for adventurous travelers, it’s part of the charm.
Your guide will lead you slowly, shining lights into trees, under leaves, and across the forest floor to find a wide variety of creatures — from hundreds of spiders and scorpions to frogs, lizards, and even sleeping snakes. For animals that are farther away, the spotting scope helps you zoom in and even take photos with your smartphone.
Because weather matters, the tour may be rescheduled in case of heavy rain: in such conditions, many animals hide, and visibility is low. The property is rugged, and only 4×4 vehicles can reach some parts — others may need to park and walk. The whole experience feels raw and authentic, without the distractions of traffic or nightlife: just you, the jungle, and its secret sounds.
