Overview
Immerse yourself in a unique marine experience at Dolphin Explorer, a park located in a natural setting along the Punta Cana coast. This excursion offers various levels of interaction with Atlantic Bottlenose dolphins, ranging from gentle encounters to high-energy swims. Designed for all ages and swimming abilities, the program allows you to connect with these intelligent marine mammals in their own habitat while learning about marine conservation in a safe and educational environment.
Highlights
The main attraction is the hands-on interaction with dolphins, which may include activities like the famous dorsal tow, belly rubs, and receiving a "dolphin kiss." Beyond the dolphins, the park features a tropical bird show and the chance to see sea lions and nurse sharks. Guests enjoy the beautiful surroundings of a natural ocean enclosure rather than a traditional pool, providing a more authentic atmosphere for the encounter.
Full Description
The day begins with a transfer from your resort to the beachfront park. Upon arrival, you will receive a briefing on dolphin anatomy and safety guidelines from professional trainers. You will then be grouped according to your chosen program—whether it is a shallow-water encounter perfect for families or an advanced swim for those looking for more excitement. During the session, trainers guide you through various behaviors that showcase the dolphins' agility and intelligence. After your time in the water, you can explore the rest of the park's facilities, watch the colorful bird performances, and browse the photo shop to see captured moments of your interaction.

Why Travelers Love It
Visitors consistently praise the park for its professional staff and the high level of care shown to the animals. The "natural habitat" setting is a major draw, as it feels more open and integrated with the Caribbean Sea. Families especially love the encounter programs that allow small children to get close to the dolphins in shallow water, making it a top-tier memory for many vacationers. The variety of other animals on-site also adds extra value to the half-day trip.
