? Full Description
Your journey begins with a comfortable pickup from your La Fortuna hotel. After a short drive, you’ll start your walk along a beautiful riverside trail surrounded by tropical vegetation. A tractor cart then takes you up a hill, where your hiking path begins.
Along the route, you’ll cross a suspension bridge offering spectacular views of the surrounding jungle and canyon. The trail then winds down into a deep gorge formed by volcanic activity thousands of years ago. At the bottom, the breathtaking La Fortuna Waterfall awaits — a 230-foot cascade plunging into a turquoise pool. Here, you can admire the scenery, take photos, or swim in the cool mountain water.
After your time at the waterfall, you’ll make your way to a viewpoint before visiting a traditional Maleku Indigenous village. Inside their palenque, you’ll learn about their language, beliefs, and artistic traditions.
Your experience continues at a charming local restaurant near a butterfly garden and frog pond, where you’ll enjoy a warm, traditional Costa Rican lunch. After relaxing in this peaceful setting, you’ll be transported back to your hotel in La Fortuna.
