Then switch to a boat for a 2.5-hour journey: glide through natural tunnels of red and white mangroves, keep an eye out for wildlife like herons, pelicans, and if you’re lucky — manatees. You’ll explore caves with ancient Taíno pictographs such as Cueva de la Arena and Cueva de la Línea, home to bats and geological formations. Finally, you’ll sail past iconic limestone mogotes and bird-populated islets known as Bird Island, before returning to the dock for a refreshing break with fresh coconut water or local fruit.
