Full Description
Your adventure begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel, which transports you to the Buggy Ranch located near the Macao area. After a safety briefing and instruction on operating your automatic buggy, you'll set off on a thrilling, guided caravan drive through the scenic Dominican farmlands. Prepare to get muddy as you navigate private dirt roads, passing palm trees and local plantations.
The first major stop is typically a traditional ranch or 'casa típica', where you'll receive a fascinating presentation on the local production of organic coffee, cocoa, and tobacco. You'll have the chance to sample these products, including the famous Dominican elixir, Mamajuana.
Next, the route leads you to a spectacular natural sinkhole, the Macao Cave (cenote). Descend into this cool, dark cavern for a refreshing and invigorating swim in the crystal-clear natural spring waters, offering a peaceful break from the dusty roads.
The excursion concludes at the breathtaking Macao Beach. Recognized for its golden sands, limestone cliffs, and powerful waves, this unspoiled beach is perfect for swimming, relaxing, or watching local surfers. After enjoying the beach, you'll return to the ranch to drop off your buggy and be transferred back to your hotel.
