Your adventure begins at a calm lagoon in front of the Tortuguero National Park office, where you board a canoe and begin your journey along the river. As you move deeper into the park, your certified guide helps you spot hidden animals such as monkeys, caimans, sloths, iguanas, and various bird species.
You’ll paddle—or let your guide paddle—through narrow, shaded canals surrounded by dense rainforest vegetation. The serene pace and absence of engine noise allow for a more authentic connection with nature.
