Your day begins with hotel pickup in the La Romana/Bayahíbe area. After a safety briefing, you’ll hop into your buggy and head out through the countryside. First stop: expansive sugar-cane plantations where you’ll hear about the sugar industry’s role in the region and taste fresh cane right in the field. Next you’ll drive through jungle tracks and past small rural villages (bateyes) and have a unique glimpse into local culture. Then you’ll arrive at the majestic Chavón River, admired for its lush scenery and cinematic history. You’ll have time to swim and soak in the river views. After that you’ll visit a traditional ranch where tropical fruit, organic coffee and cocoa are sampled, and you’ll be toasted with mamajuana. The tour finishes with return transfer to your hotel, filled with memories of Dominican adventure, nature and culture.
