The tour begins early — around 6:00 AM — with a hotel pickup from Puerto Plata / Montellano area. After a drive (with a stop for breakfast or picnic) to Santo Domingo (about 3–3.5 hours), you arrive to start your city exploration.
First you’ll visit the seaside Malecón boulevard, then head to the Columbus Lighthouse for photos and sightseeing.
Next: head to The Three Eyes Natural Park, where you will explore limestone caves, turquoise-water cenotes, and take a small boat ride inside a cavern for a unique natural experience.
Afterwards, enjoy a cable-car ride over Santo Domingo — offering panoramic views of the city and its varied neighborhoods.
Then you’ll tour the historic old town (“Zona Colonial”), walking through streets founded in the 1500s and visiting key monuments such as Alcázar de Colón, Ozama Fortress, Basilica Cathedral of Santa María la Menor, and other colonial-era buildings.
At midday take a break for a Dominican buffet lunch (soft drink included), followed by some free time — ideal for souvenir shopping or wandering on your own.
In the late afternoon (around 4–5 PM) the group departs Santo Domingo and returns to Puerto Plata / north coast; arrival back is around 8–9 PM.
